By: | Tags: | Comments: 0

Custom Processing Services, co-founded by Gregg Shemanski and Jeffrey A. Klinger, specializes in making particles so small they can hardly be seen. Starting in December 2000 literally as a two-man operation, with Shemanski and Klinger running the high tech equipment only at night because of high electricity use, the business has grown to employ more than 100 people, with four buildings in two locations, Exeter Township and East Greenville. CPS uses the latest technology to micronize and ultrafine-grind materials for a wide range of products, including chemical powders, waxes, polymers, minerals, metals, fillers […]

Jeff Klinger discusses Multiple Grinding Techniques to Reduce Particle Size

By: | Tags: | Comments: 0

Coarse grinding can be achieved in many different ways. Typically we start off with drastic size reduction by running the product through a series of jaw crushers and pass this material through our rotary kiln dryer if moisture reduction is required. The continuous process carries the product from the dryer to our impact crushers to further reduce the size. The material is then sized to customized “mesh” particle sizes by screening the material over a series of different screens to meet the customer’s specifications. Multiple Grinding Techniques to Reduce Particle Size: […]

Gregg Shemanski discusses various types of grinding methods and their applications in the May 2015 issue of Powder & Bulk Solids. Different Approaches to Grinding Abrasive Materials I have been grinding materials or particle size reduction for over 30 years. I was introduced to making powder out of lead pigs in a ball mill at my first job, and have been working in the field of particle size reduction in one form or another for most of my life. The purpose of this article is not to show a complete […]
