Custom Processing Services, a contract processor located in the Exeter Industrial Park on Birchmont Drive in Exeter Township, is adding a 42,000 square foot facility to their campus of buildings. Once completed, the new building will provide immediate warehouse space and room to grow and diversify into different markets.
Construction of the building began in March, and is expected to be completed by October. With PIDA and SBA financing through VIST Financial, the cost of the building is approximately $2 million, plus equipment.
Companies pay CPS to take a product that is in one form and transform it into another form by grinding it, blending it, coating it, or whatever is required to make it a more usable product. According to co-owner Gregg Shemanski, their specialty is particle size reduction. They have very specialized equipment that can grind materials into nano and micro-size particles.
They use the same processes in several different markets, currently processing materials such as waxes, polymers, flame retardants, minerals, metals, fillers, pigments and food grade products. The addition of an ultra-clean white room in the new building will allow them to expand into pharmaceutical processing.
Shemanksi and jeff Klinger, also a co-owner, began operations of CPS in 2000 with two employees and today employ approximately 80 people. Shemanski anticipates the new building and expanded market share will require the addition of 15-18 employees by this time next year.
