Exeter firm kicks off expansion project
A groundbreaking ceremony was held Thursday for an expansion of Custom Processing Services Inc.'s facility off East Neversink Road in Exeter Township.
The $2.7 million project will allow the firm to increase its pharmaceutical processing capabilities.
The company provides grinding, milling and micronizing, or size-reduction, services for various industries, including chemical, mineral, food and pharmaceutical.
The new, 42,000-square-foot building will add warehousing and manufacturing space. Dolan Construction Co. is the general contractor.
Custom Processing Services received a $1.35 million loan for the project from the Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority, and received assistance from the Greater Berks Development Fund.
The firm was founded in 1988 by Gregory J. Shemanski, who is the company's president, and Jeffrey A. Klinger, vice president.
