PRESS RELEASE - November 3, 2011
Dedication Slated For New Manufacturing Plant

Reading, PA — Custom Processing Services, Inc. announced today that dedication ceremonies to mark the opening of their newly built manufacturing facility are scheduled for 11-11-11 (November 11, 2011) at 11:11 am.
The 42,000 square foot facility is located in Exeter Township. Its address is Zero Birchmont Drive. “It’s one of the most unique addresses in the county,” explained Gregg Shemanski, President of Custom Processing. “We already had a building at One Birchmont Drive, and the Post Office and Exeter Township could not approve a half number or fraction, nor a designation such as 1A or 1B, party to ensure proper emergency response information.”
The building is located directly across the street from the company’s main office and Plant Two, and is adjacent to CPS’s Plant One, forming a manufacturing campus on Birchmont Drive. (Boscov’s Distribution Center is behind the Custom Processing Services properties.)
The new building (Plant Three) will be home for both warehousing and manufacturing operations. Custom Processing Services is expanding its complement of contract manufacturing services to include working with active pharmaceutical products. To achieve this goal, they are constructing several “clean rooms” designed and built specifically to meet the requirements of cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) and pharmaceutical processing.
The new construction is a $2.7 million project, and the company plans to install processing equipment worth another $1 million over the next several months. The expansion is a result of continued growth and increased demand for specialized services. Dolan Construction Inc. is the general contractor for the project. The construction was funded by PIDA (the Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority), the SBA (Small Business Administration) and VIST Financial.
Custom Processing Services is also re-furbishing an existing building at its East Greenville, PA, facility to accommodate a different type of material processing there.
This corporate growth has resulted in the hiring of a number of highly qualified professionals to design, install, and operate the facilities. Additional employment opportunities exist for manufacturing personnel, maintenance mechanics, and CDL A truck drivers.
Gregg Shemanski and Jeff Klinger, founders of the company, will preside at the dedication ceremonies. Reverend Monsignor John B. McCann, pastor of Immaculate Conception Church in Douglassville, PA, and Reverend Monsignor Nevin J. Klinger, Pastor of Assumption Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Bethlehem, PA, will offer blessings. Senator Judy Schwank, Pennsylvania Senate, will make a brief presentation as well.
Employees and their families will participate in festivities later in the day.
