Often, drastic size reduction is done in phases or steps.
At the company’s East Greenville, PA, facility, size reduction is accomplished by contacting material with substantial force and striking metal. At the Reading, PA, facility size reduction is accomplished using fluid bed air jet mills to create a particle on particle collision. Each of these methods has its own set of desired attributes.

Custom Processing Services utilizes Bradley mill technology to pulverize raw materials to a -325 mesh. The air swept mill system is integrated with the CPS coarse system processing to allow crushing, drying, grinding, screening, pulverizing and classifying to take place simultaneously.
Pulverized material from the grinding zone is carried by the air stream to a separator mounted directly above the mill. From there, product-size material is carried to a collection cyclone while oversize particles are rejected and recycled for further grinding.
