Gregg Shemanski Alvernia Vice Chair

Gregory J. Shemanski

BS Business Management, Lehigh University

Mr. Shemanski’s professional experience includes many different areas in the air milling micronizing industry, including chemicals and minerals. This includes design and fabrication of the pulverizing and air milling systems.

His diverse industry experience extends to design, management, sales and administration at two of the larger processors in the country. Mr. Shemanski was successful in growing sales and profits exponentially during his tenures

He acquired operational, installation, plant assembly and administrative knowledge of air/jet/fluid energy milling systems to develop processes that are used to perform ultra-fine micronizing of powders. As President and CEO of Custom Processing Services, Mr. Shemanski has been involved with the formation of the Company and the design of the plant.

After learning the basic techniques of air milling, Mr. Shemanski worked with second-generation air mills and their development. Mr. Shemanski has become one of the world’s leading experts in various methods of particle size reduction technologies. He also has extensive experience in the buying, selling and pulverizing of minerals from around the world, and has traveled extensively to develop that business.

Jeff Klinger

Jeffrey A. Klinger

Vice President

Mr. Klinger has extensive plant and business management experience. For nine years, he had been employed at one of the market leaders in micronizing services, as Director of Operations and General Manager. Micronizing productivity grew from $3.2 million to $11 million under his tenure. Mr. Klinger is an efficiency-oriented, cost-effective manager with leading industry expertise in air milling technologies and production, contract negotiation and budgeting. He has highly developed skills in purchasing, cost controls, and the planning and direction of production activities. Mr. Klinger’s experience has been all encompassing with respect to recruitment and selection, personnel training and development, and performance evaluation. He also has extensive experience in human resource management, successfully arbitrating labor disputes, managing customer relations, guiding product development, scheduling, and reengineering, refining and optimizing production systems.

Mr. Klinger’s expertise includes quality assurances and control, large-scale operations analysis with extensive utilization and development of ISO-9002 quality systems. He has also been instrumental in mill design upgrades, applying his expertise from years of micronizing experience.

Scott Lehr

Scott C. Lehr

Plant Superintendent
Associate Degree in Business Management, Pennsylvania State University

Mr. Lehr came to CPS with over ten years of experience in the manufacturing field. His previous industry experience includes work as a quality and Production Specialist, a Production Manager, Quality Assurance Manager, and Director of QA/Operations Manager.

Mr. Lehr has also completed the MABC (Manufacturers Association of Berks County) Supervisory Training program, and the Pennsylvania State University Better Processing School. Mr. Lehr has also completed the FPI/NFPA (Food Processors Institute/National Food Processors Association) HACCP Level I training program.

Mr. Lehr is responsible for plant and manufacturing operations for Custom Processing Services’ three facilities, located at Zero, One and Two Birchmont Drive in Exeter Township, near Reading, PA.

Christopher J. Fell

Managing Engineer

Chris is Managing Engineer for Custom Processing Services. Chris has obtained his BSME in Thermal/Fluid Science as well as an ME in Engineering Management, both from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. Chris worked for many years in engineering management for a major paper manufacturer and recently in project development of a cogeneration facility. Chris has his Professional Engineer (Mechanical) license as well as the Project Management Professional certification. He is active in his home community and church and has been an Advisory Board Member of the Ben Franklin Technology Partners Berks County group.

KT Brickman

Technical Sales Engineer

KT Brickman is the firm’s Technical Sales Engineer, collaborating with clients to define process conditions and product specifications for manufacture. She is in charge of all technical grade testing and development. KT earned a B. S. in Material Science & Engineering from Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA, where she was also Captain of the track team.

In 2014, the Manufacturing Institute named KT Brickman as one of its second Women in Manufacturing STEP (Science, Technology, Engineering and Production) Award winners. The STEP Awards honor women who have demonstrated excellence and leadership in their careers and represent all levels of the manufacturing industry, from the factory-floor to corporate offices, and across the entire nation. KT was one of 160 women who were chosen for this honor because they each made significant achievements in manufacturing through positive impact on their company and the industry as a whole. The STEP Awards are part of the larger STEP Ahead initiative launched to examine and promote the role of women in the manufacturing industry through recognition, research, and best practices for attracting, advancing, and retaining strong female talent.
